Anambra poll: Presidency supports what we’re doing, we’re confident to win, says Prince Ukachukwu-Ekwunife campaign council DG, Ikedife (jnr)

Hon Dozie Ikedife

The Director General of the Anambra State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign council, Hon Dozie Ikedife (jnr) has reassured that the APC candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and his deputy, Senator Uche Ekwunife would win the November 8 election.

Ikedife (jnr) who spoke to journalists, weekend, at his Nnewi residence described the APC’s victory in the coming election as a mission accomplished.

He said his party has put every machinery in motion to introduce policies that would rejig the State economy, social and educational system, revive the health sector with a sound security architecture.

“Security still remains paramount to us. We have discovered that crime rate continues to rise in communities and Council Areas of the State. This is an administration, referring to Governor Charles Soludo’s leadership, that lies to the people, an administration that uses ‘Ndi Aka Odo’ to attack and maim Ndị Anambra. This is a government that adopts campaign of calumny as its political strategy, insulting the people and the sensibilities of Ndị Anambra.

“They are not campaigning on what they have done or what they are going to do, not pointing to any project they have done. We’re pointing at their weaknesses and non performance.

“So, we are saying that by the grace of God, Anambra will heave a sigh of relief and have a breath of fresh air. The wind of glory is coming to Anambra, “he added.

Ikedife said he is not worried about rigging, adding that the APC is confident in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free, fair and credible election in Anambra.

“APGA believes they are going to use money to buy the soul of Anambra State, but Anambra voters are now wise. The money that APGA wants to use to buy the conscience of Anambra people belongs to the people. This is money that should have been used to build new hospitals, new classroom blocks, create enabling environment to drive away criminals from the State, “he further added.

He accused the APGA government of stockpiling money it wants to use to prosecute the election. He, however, said that the Anambra voters are not going to accept N15,000 or N20,000 as inducement to suffer for the next four years.

On whether the Presidency is interested in the November 8 governorship election, he said: “You have to understand that the Presidency is the APC and the APC is the Presidency.

“APC is the national and ruling party. The APC national headquarters is supporting what we’re doing. They are all supporting us. They want us to win and we’re very confident that we’re going to win.

“I’m doing my best as the DG for my party to win. We’re humbled by how Anambra voters have received us and supported us all through this journey.

“We are still counting on their support and very optimistic that we’re going to win this election. My prediction is that the APC will win and other parties will come behind, “he concluded.
