August 16 by-election in Anambra South: No party is more prepared than APGA – Nnewi North Chairman, Muodielo

The Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon. Anthony Muodielo, has declared that no political party is more prepared for the August 16 by-election in Anambra South Senatorial district than APGA.

Muodielo said the performance of the APGA-led government at both state and local government levels has earned the party wide acceptance across the 21 council areas of Anambra State. He noted that such acceptance had made preparations for the by-election and the November 8 governorship election smooth for the party.

According to him, APGA is currently focused on sensitization rather than outright campaigning, as voters have every reason to vote for the party.

“For us in the party, it is a mission accomplished and payback time for the Governor who has done very well in all sectors, as well as an opportunity to show appreciation to APGA as a party,” he said.

On safeguarding the process, Muodielo assured that the party has strategies to prevent any attempt at rigging, expressing confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deliver credible polls.

Responding to reports quoting Governor Chukwuma Soludo as saying Nnewi people do not pay taxes, Muodielo said the Governor was quoted out of context. He explained that Soludo only meant that the revenue from Nnewi was not commensurate with the scale of business and industrial activities in the area, not that residents failed to pay taxes.
