Newly elected Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nnewi Branch, Sir Barr. A.A. Igwubuike, has assured members that his administration will herald a new era of progress, innovation, and development for the branch.
Speaking with journalists in his office in Nnewi, the chairman-elect described his emergence as an opportunity to serve both God and humanity, adding that his passion for selfless service motivated his decision to contest for the position.
Barr. Igwubuike, an indigene of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, said the NBA Nnewi Branch, which comprises Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo local government areas, deserves to rank among the most developed and vibrant branches in the state.
According to him, his administration will introduce several landmark projects and reforms aimed at improving the welfare and professional growth of members.
These include the provision of an operational bus, the establishment of a befitting office complex, the development of a law centre, and other initiatives designed to reposition the branch for greater relevance and excellence.
He expressed confidence in his ability to lead the association to greater heights, citing his experience, extensive network of contacts, leadership capacity, and commitment to service.
“NBA Nnewi remains one of the most prominent and active branches in Anambra State. Therefore, it is only fitting that we strive to make it one of the best in terms of development, service delivery, and professional advancement,” he said.
Commenting on the recent Democracy Day celebration, Barr. Igwubuike expressed concern over the current political and economic situation in Nigeria, describing it as disappointing and far below expectations.
He attributed the nation’s challenges to poor leadership, corruption, greed, and selfishness among some political office holders.
Despite the prevailing difficulties, he expressed optimism that divine intervention would help steer the country toward a better future.
The chairman-elect also extended his appreciation to members of the NBA Nnewi Branch for the confidence reposed in him and his executive team, pledging not to betray the trust placed in them.
He appealed for the continued support, cooperation, and prayers of members, assuring them that together they would build a stronger, more united, and more progressive NBA Nnewi Branch.
