Two persons sustained injuries on Saturday when a trailer crashed into three vehicles beneath the Nkpor Bridge along the Onitsha–Awka Expressway in Anambra State.
The accident, which occurred around 1 p.m., involved a Mercedes-Benz truck, two commercial shuttle buses, and an Audi Volkswagen car.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer reportedly suffered brake failure, veered off the bridge, and landed on the vehicles below.
Confirming the incident, Anambra State FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, said six male adults were involved in the crash.
Two sustained minor injuries while four others escaped unhurt. No fatalities were recorded.
She said the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital before FRSC rescue teams arrived, while efforts were made to clear the obstruction and restore traffic flow.
Asekhauno urged motorists, particularly operators of heavy-duty vehicles, to ensure regular vehicle maintenance and proper inspection of braking systems before embarking on journeys.
