The President General of Igwebuike Anam Age Grade Worldwide, Chief Engr. Samuel Udefi, has called on governments in the Southeast to strengthen the age grade system as a tool for sustainable grassroots development.

Udefi made the call during his 50th birthday celebration held in Asaba, Delta State, where he was honoured by members of his age grade. He described the group as one of the most organized and development-driven in Igboland, spanning eight communities in Anam.

He highlighted key projects executed by the group, including solar lighting, rural electrification, medical outreach, and empowerment initiatives for indigent members.

Udefi urged governments to partner with age grades and town unions, noting that such collaboration would accelerate development and promote shared responsibility at the community level.
