Addressing party stakeholders, teachers and students, while reeling out his 14-point score card and empowerment programme on Thursday at Community Primary School field, Hon Okorie, who doubles as the Vice Chairman South East Councilors’ Forum of Nigeria, expressed his appreciations.
“May I use this occasion to thank God for the gift of life; His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma, CON, Onwa Global, and the Executive Chairman of Orlu LGA, Hon Pst Chris Mbarie, JP, for the privilege given me; fellow Councilors for oversight functions cooperation and of course, my good and industrious people of Owerre-Ebeiri and Alaoma Owerre-Ebeiri, for support and solidarity especially, the donations.
“May God bless us adequately in our mission to serve and deliver accountable leadership.
The Councilor appealed to the state government to embark on urgent renovation of the dilapidated school blocks at both Community Primary and Premier Primary Schools, Owerre-Ebeiri so as to complement his humble pupils’ empowerment with conducive reading environment.
Highlights of the event were kola presentation, pupils’ welcome songs, Community Secondary School students’ display, distribution of school bags and writing materials, dressing pupils with new school uniforms, merit awards conferment, speeches by dignitaries especially Councilors across 27 LGAs who received empowerment kits for their pupils.
Other Councilors said they were being challenged to emulate Hon Okorie’s feat for their respective wards.
