The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Idemili Federal Constituency, Dr Kingsley Ezekwelu (KK), has promised to run an open-door administration and provide accessible, people-oriented representation if elected into the House of Representatives.

Ezekwelu gave the assurance while rounding off his six-week thank-you tour of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency at Ojoto, his hometown in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The campaign finale attracted APC leaders, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, youths, women groups and supporters, who expressed confidence in his candidacy ahead of the January 16, 2027 election.

Addressing the gathering, Ezekwelu thanked the people for their support during the party primaries and pledged to remain accessible, hardworking and responsive to their needs.
“Send me, and I will be accessible, close to you, hardworking and smart. Give me your vote, and I will wipe your tears,” he declared.

He also promised a positive departure from what he described as the unsatisfactory pattern of representation experienced by constituents.

The APC chairmen in Idemili North and South, Chief Charles Obadike and Chief Obidigbo, respectively, appealed to voters to support Ezekwelu, describing his candidacy as an opportunity to produce a representative who understands the needs and challenges of the constituency.

Obidigbo commended him for fulfilling his promise to return and appreciate the people following his victory at the APC primaries.

The Coordinator of the Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organisation in the area, Rev. Uche Ibeabuchi, disclosed that he had initially aspired to contest for the seat but stepped down for Ezekwelu after assessing the political situation.

He urged constituents to mobilise support for the APC candidate to ensure victory at the polls.

Similarly, the APC candidate for the State House of Assembly, Hon. Vincent Obi, urged Ojoto residents to take ownership of the campaign, mobilise voters and protect their votes on election day.

Other party leaders, including Dame Princess Esom Nwafor-Orizu, Hon. Anthony Muomaife and Chief Joseph C. Okeke, expressed confidence in Ezekwelu’s capacity to represent the constituency.

Earlier, the campaign train visited Umuoji in Idemili North, where community leaders, women groups and other stakeholders endorsed his aspiration.

The women, who turned out in large numbers, offered prayers for the candidate and described him as an energetic and intelligent young politician capable of attracting development to the constituency.
They particularly praised his decision to visit the community to appreciate their support after the APC primaries.

“This is the first time a politician promised something and fulfilled it,” the women declared.

The Umuoji Ward 1 Chairperson, Mrs Ifeyinwa Odoba, urged residents to support Ezekwelu, while Chief Obi Onwuachu called for massive voter mobilisation and protection of votes.

Onwuachu also disclosed that youth employment would be among the candidate’s priorities if elected.
The APC Chief Secretary, Sir Obi Okpala, urged voters to support the party’s candidates across elective positions, arguing that such support would promote development.

The six-week tour covered the 22 wards in Idemili North and South, with the campaign team expressing optimism about Ezekwelu’s chances in the forthcoming election.
