The President-General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Prince Jude Osumuoh has reassured the four quarters of Nnewi community that his administration would hit the ground running to execute all his campaign promises.

Prince Osumuoh gave the assurance on Sunday during the maiden meeting of the town union after the election that produced him as the PG.

He expressed gratitude to everyone that made the election successful and peaceful with a special appreciation to Prof Edwin Chukwuma for his understanding as he contested with him but lost.

He said he was happy with Prof Chukwuma who has decided to join hands with him to move Nnewi forward despite the fact that he lost the election.

He extended his gratitude to security agents, the Board of Trustees and the press for all their efforts to ensure a successful election.

The Nzuko-Ora PG expressed his preparedness to build a befitting town hall for Nnewi people during his tenure among other things, adding that the moment a parcel of land is secured for the town hall, he would not waste any time to start the foundation.

He begged the entire Nnewi people to co–operate with his administration while appealing to the opposition to sheath their swords and rally support to move Nnewi to the next level.

“This is not time to be in opposition. The election is over and we have to join hands to move our community forward. Time for campaign has gone and there is no time to waste. We should hit the ground running to ensure positive development in Nnewi, “he appealed.

The PG used the opportunity to render the account of income and expenditure of last year’s Afiaolu festival while a new committee headed by Mr Austin Manuel Jideofor was set up for the 2025 edition of the same event.

Prince Osumuoh later announced the setting up of several committees to ensure smooth sail of his leadership.

Those committees include 5-man conflict resolution committee which members were to come from the four quarters of Nnewi; a committee for electricity supply; media committee; works committee and contact and mobilization committee.

He assured that his administration would depart from the past where media was excluded, assuring that all the activities of his administration would always be made public so that Nnewi indigenes in diaspora would equally know what is happening at home.

He disclosed that his leadership would have nothing to hide.

The Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Mr Echezona Anazodo who was among the dignitaries at the meeting addressed the house on issues of common interest to the community.
