One of the major contenders to the office of the President General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi in an upcoming election, Hon Jude Osumuoh has declared his preparedness to restore whatever his community had lost in the past, if he is made the PG of the industrial community.
Osumuoh who is currently the Chief of Staff and Protocols to the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Council Area, told journalists in an interview that he had already articulated what he would do for his community when he assumed office as the PG of the town.
He said that if elected, his administration would be result-oriented and that he would do all he could to restore peace and unity in Nnewi.
Osumuoh assured Ndị Nnewi that security of lives and property would be guaranteed. He also promised that Nnewi community hall would be ready within six months he assumed office as he would start the project immediately with the help of Nnewi stakeholders, who according to him would be ready to contribute.
On the land matter between the Anambra State Government and Ndị Nnewi, Osumuoh affirmed that through peaceful dialogue that the community would regain Nkwo Triangle, which he called heart of the community.
Speaking on effective financial accountability, Osumuoh disclosed that when he was Ndiakwu Otolo PG, he was doing his administration’s financial audit every year in line with his belief in accountability.
He said he was doing that as it was community’s funds not his, promising that when he assumed office as Nzuko-Ora Nnewi PG, he would do the same.
“I have been in so many leadership positions. As would-be Nnewi PG, I have looked around and seen that I have all it takes to take this mantle of leadership.
“If I win the election, which I know by the grace of God, I will win, I will not go there as a learner, I will start work immediately because I know what my community wants and what our Igwe wants in his lifetime. Our people need a man of great honour and integrity which I know within me I have, “he said.
Osumuoh further assured that his regime would accommodate non indigenes in Nnewi, saying that the non-indigenes would also contribute immensely to the development of Nnewi community as they have been doing.
“I have lived in Northern part of the country. I witnessed what hospitality is, so non-indigenes in our community would have no reason to complain. If they are treated badly, we will look into it, which I know will not happen because our people are peaceful, loving and friendly, “he said.
Speaking on his achievements in the past as a leader, Osumuoh said as a PG of Ndiakwu Otolo, he built a community hall with his name inscribed on it.
He also disclosed that he renovated the community’s health centre, initiated free medical treatment with a team of doctors from America, three times every year during his regime.
Osumuoh revealed that he was the first PG to do the community. He said he also awarded some of the roads, among other achievements.
