The Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), South East (Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States Branch), Lady Dr. Ada Chukwudozie, has applauded Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for appointing Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam.
Chukwudozie gave the commendation during a special thanksgiving Mass held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Nnobi, in Idemili South Local Government Area, to celebrate Prof. Omenugha’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor and the 70th birthday of her husband, Dr. Michael Omenugha.
Chukwudozie Hails Soludo, Felicitates Omenugha Family
The MAN chairman, who is also the Chairman of Keystone Bank and a close family friend, congratulated Prof. Omenugha on her appointment, describing it as well deserved.
She also felicitated with Dr. Michael Omenugha on attaining the milestone age of 70, praying for God’s continued blessings, good health and greater celebrations in the family’s life.
Bishop Okoye Urges Thanksgiving, Environmental Responsibility
Delivering the homily, the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, described thanksgiving as a pathway to greater divine blessings.
He urged Ndi Anambra to support government efforts in tackling erosion by avoiding environmental practices that contribute to land degradation, while praying for God’s continued guidance and protection upon the celebrants.
Omenugha Attributes Success to God, Teamwork
Expressing joy and gratitude, Prof. Omenugha thanked God for granting her wisdom, strength and grace to lead COOU since assuming office as Vice-Chancellor.
She also expressed appreciation to the Visitor to the University, Governor Soludo, for entrusting her with the leadership of the institution, as well as to the university’s management, staff and students for their unwavering support.
According to her, the achievements recorded by the university under her leadership have been made possible through collective commitment and divine grace.
Son Pays Tribute to Parents
Speaking on behalf of the family, one of the celebrants’ sons, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, described his parents as invaluable gifts whose lives have continued to inspire their children and many others.
He said the thanksgiving was an opportunity to appreciate God for His faithfulness and to acknowledge everyone who had contributed in one way or another to the growth and success of the Omenugha family.
