Despite pockets of distractions coming from the opposition, the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Hon Echezona Anazodo has presented a success story of his six months in office.

Hon Anazodo as well gave kudos to the State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo for his concern to ensure that Nnewi gets fair share of democracy dividends under his watch.

In a press briefing at his office Saturday, Hon Anazodo described Soludo’s administration as the best thing that has happened to Nnewi community.

He cited Governor Soludo’s developmental efforts that have immensely benefited Nnewi people and the ongoing dualization of roads which he said would afford more economic advantage for the industrial community.

He described as amazing that even construction work is ongoing in Nnewi now despite the rain. He noted that the community has continued to enjoy massive infrastructure they never experienced before.

Hon Anazodo insisted that Governor Soludo has not neglected Nnewi people, promising that Nnewi North Council Area under his watch would willingly mobilize support for Soludo’s second term in office to appreciate the Governor’s quality leadership.

He declared that his administration is quite in good relationship with the Governor in all ramifications, adding that anybody who thinks otherwise is doing so on a false premise.

On the recent allegation that his government has overtaxed market and street traders in Nnewi, Anazodo debunked it and said that his administration has not collected a dime from anybody as revenue, adding that anything he does is always within the confines of the edict.

He also disclosed that revenue collection system in Nnewi North now is digitalized as against a system in the past where you would go to traders’ stalls, chasing people around, asking for revenue.

“It’s all lies. Nnewi North has not collected a dime from any market. They speculate without evidence. You know when you fight corruption, corruption will certainly fight back. We’re running a transparent system, “he said.

“We’re building a goodwill between the masses and the government. We have been able to create good relationship.

“We have empowered over 200 youths in Nnewi and paid for JAMB registration for many. We have empowered more than 400 farmers with farm seedlings and fertilizer, constructed a bridge over mmili Ukwaka, tackled erosion at Nnewichi and a whole lot of things under six months, “the Chairman added.

Hon Anazodo had earlier expressed the need to have good relationship with the media men who he said would help to inform him when he goes astray.
