In a landmark achievement for Nigeria’s legal profession and the disability community, Nehemiah Danjuma has made history after being called to the Nigerian Bar, becoming the first deaf lawyer from Northern Nigeria.
Vanguard reports that Danjuma, an indigene of Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, reached the remarkable milestone after graduating with a Second Class Upper degree in Common Law from the University of Ilorin and successfully completing the Bar Part II programme at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus.
Announcing the historic feat on his X account, an excited Danjuma wrote:
