Former PDP stakeholders join APGA in Anambra with huge followers

Scores of critical stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State on Friday joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) with their followers preparatory to 2025 governorship election in the State.

The decampees led by one of the former PDP stakeholders, Barr Ugochukwu Adilieje were received into the APGA family by the Anambra State Chairman of the party, Barr Ifatu Obi-Okoye at the APGA Secretariat, Awka.

While welcoming the new members, the State Chairman of the APGA, Obi-Okoye commended them for their choice of APGA which he described as a moving train.

He said that the APGA was set to retire some generation of politicians in the State for them to look for something else doing.

The APGA State Chairman told the new entrants that they were in the right party, noting that Governor Charles Soludo was at a time, a PDP governorship candidate and that the Special Adviser to Gov Soludo on Political Matters, Dr Alex Obiogbolu used to be ‘Oganiru PDP’ but later discovered that the APGA was their best choice.

Barr Obi-Okoye disclosed that he himself was a former Chairman of PDP in Anambra State, and later moved to APGA where he has served as a Special Adviser to the Governor, National Publicity Secretary of the party and now APGA State Chairman.

He noted that APGA at the moment is a combination of old PDP and APGA and that APGA is open to receiving new comers.

Barr Obio-Okoye, however, warned against any form of segregation and discrimination against the new entrants into the APGA family.

He observed that the former PDP stakeholders came into APGA at the highest level in the state adding that, “All of us will grow this party and make it bigger. By your performance, you will rise to an unimaginable level.”

The leader of the former PDP stakeholders in Anaocha LGA of Anambra State, Chief Barr Ugochukwu Adilieje (Uduakommili Eze Elisiaku) in his comment said that he and others were moved to join APGA because of the five star performance of Gov Charles Soludo.

He said that the Anambra State governor has done so well in all ramifications and that every lover of good mut identify with him.

Uduakommili Eze Elisiaku said, “Look at what the administration of Gov Soludo has done in Awka, we now have a State Capital that is truly a capital, the abandoned Government House is nearing completion, and so are many other signature projects. He is working on roads, empowering the schools, hospitals and so on.”

Chief Barr Adilieje commended Gov Soludo for the new security outfit he introduced noting that it was indeed a welcomed development.
