The Anambra State Pilgrims Affairs Office has commenced registration for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, following resolutions reached at the Conference of State Pilgrims meeting with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC).

The meeting reviewed the experiences and security challenges encountered during the 2025 pilgrimage and adopted strategies aimed at ensuring the safety, welfare and spiritual wellbeing of pilgrims during the 2026 exercise.

NCPC Executive Secretary, Bishop Steven Adegbite, said the Commission would continue to monitor the security situation in Israel ahead of the pilgrimage, stressing that the safety and welfare of pilgrims would remain a priority.

He disclosed that Israel and Jordan would remain the destinations for the 2026 pilgrimage, scheduled to begin in the first week of November and end in the last week of December.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Anambra State Governor on Pilgrims Affairs, Barr. Odira Ezeh, said the state would implement the resolutions of the Conference and work closely with the NCPC and other stakeholders to ensure adequate preparation of intending pilgrims.

Ezeh also appreciated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim for their continued support for the welfare and spiritual development of Christian pilgrims in the state.

He urged Christian leaders and intending pilgrims across Anambra to take advantage of the registration exercise and make the necessary preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.
