The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Anambra State, Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, has urged married couples to seek God’s grace to protect their families against what he described as the devil’s attacks on marriage.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service marking the end of the 21st Aguata Diocesan Women’s Conference at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Umuomaku, the bishop said the family is the foundation of both the Church and society, warning that attacks on marriages contribute to moral decline.
He encouraged participants to live out the conference theme, “God’s Great Task for the Church: The Great Commitment to Raising a Godly Generation,” by promoting Christian values in their homes and communities.
Bishop Ezeofor also expressed concern over the growing involvement of some Christians, including baptized members, in traditional religious practices, calling on parents to raise children in the fear of God.
The conference president, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, also urged young people to shun idolatry and remain committed to serving God.
