The Anambra Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSONetMADE) has intensified efforts to curb irregular migration through a sensitisation programme held at Land of Goshen International College, Awka.

The initiative focused on educating students and teachers about the dangers of irregular migration, including human trafficking, exploitation, and organ harvesting. It also promoted safe and informed migration practices, especially among young people who are often targeted with false promises of lucrative opportunities abroad.
Speaking during the session, the State Coordinator, Eucharia Onyemaobi, highlighted the risks associated with illegal migration, noting that many youths have lost their dreams due to ignorance and deception by traffickers.
She urged students to be cautious of “too-good-to-be-true” offers and encouraged them to seek guidance from parents and teachers before making migration decisions. Onyemaobi also emphasised the role of teachers in educating students about evolving trafficking tactics.
The school proprietor, Obianuju Mercy Okeke, commended the initiative and pledged continued collaboration to sustain awareness through future engagements.
CSONetMADE reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing advocacy and public enlightenment on safe migration across the state.
