Belgium’s national football team celebrated their 4-1 victory over the United States at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by performing the signature “YMCA” dance associated with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The celebration followed a controversial pre-match decision that saw FIFA suspend the one-match ban on U.S. forward Folarin Balogun after Trump reportedly called for a review.
Belgian captain Youri Tielemans said the decision motivated his team.
“We told ourselves we needed to do our talking on the pitch. That’s what we did today,” Tielemans said.
Belgium’s players later repeated the “YMCA” dance in the dressing room, with the celebration quickly going viral on social media.
