The Anambra State Police Command has intensified efforts to boost operational readiness following a specialised arms drill and operational preparedness exercise conducted under the supervision of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Miller Gajere Dantawaye, psc.

The Police Spokesman, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the exercise, held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, brought together personnel of the Command as part of measures to strengthen weapon-handling skills, operational discipline, coordination and compliance with established tactical and safety procedures.

The drill, conducted under the Police Supervisory Zone comprising Anambra and Enugu States, featured practical exercises focused on safe weapon handling, arms drill, precision, controlled response and strict adherence to prescribed operational procedures.

The exercise also emphasised professional conduct and the safe and responsible deployment of police personnel and equipment in the course of duty.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, commended AIG Dantawaye for the initiative, describing continuous professional training as essential to improving operational effectiveness and responsible policing.

Oji Ama charged officers and men of the Command to apply the competencies acquired during the exercise to their field operations, while ensuring strict compliance with the law, Force policies and established Standard Operating Procedures.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining a disciplined, professionally competent and operationally prepared workforce capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges and protecting lives and property across the state.
