Ahead of the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, two prominent market leaders in the State, Chief Jude Nwankwo popularly known as Jolity who is the President General of Building Material International Market, Ogidi and his counterpart, Hon Ndubuisi Ochiogu who is the President General of Ogbaru Main Market have vowed that opposition parties in the State would not stop the re-election of the incumbent Governor, Professor Charles Soludo for second term.

The duo who spoke in separate interviews with Nijasun.com insisted that Soludo is doing well and went ahead to predict that the Governor would have landslide victory by winning all the 21 Local Government Areas in the State.

Jolity said: “I don’t see the chances of any of the opposition polititians under any of the political parties coming close to win the governorship election because the incumbent Governor is doing wonderfully well.

“As a matter of fact, as far as Soludo is concerned there is no vacancy in the Government House, Awka and I am even looking at 21/21 victory for him.”

Buttressing his points further, the Ogidi market leader who is also the patron of Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) explained that by his own observations Soludo has not just mustered the capacity to give effective response to the challenges facing Anambra people but has also provided what could be described as permanent solution to some of the challenges including insecurity, bad roads and more importantly adequate harnessing of the resources of the State.

Hon Ochiogu on his part wondered where any of the opposition politicians would get votes to win the election, adding that the traders in over sixty markets in the State constituted the voting population in the State.

He said that the traders are comfortable with the incumbent Governor Soludo. Citing Ogbaru Main Market as a case in point, he said that Soludo is responding to the needs of the traders in particular and the entire Anambra in general.

“Let me tell you the truth, because of what Soludo is doing for the traders, and the entire populace in the area of road construction, education, health care and security, traders don’t even care to know about the opposition politicians and their political parties.

“At Ogbaru Main Market for instance, if you go round the market you will see people putting on APGA branded clothes, caps, mounting banners and signposts with pictures of Soludo, the same is likely to be going on in other markets, so where is the opposition in the system, how would they get the votes. They can’t even win a single local government, “he said.
