Anambra 2025: Ikemba Front endorses APC aspirant, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu

A political support group under the umbrella of the Ikemba Front, angling to install the best Governor for Anambra State has formally endorsed an Abuja-based business man and politician, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as their preferred candidate for the April 5 governorship primary in the State.

This was announced in Awka in a briefing before the officials of the political support group.

The National Adviser and the Vice-Chairman of Council of Elders of Ikemba Front, Elder Johnny Oraefo, disclosed that the group was not only adopting Prince Ukachukwu to win the party primary but also to win the election proper for the APC in the November 8, 2025 governorship election.

“After carefully analysing all the aspirants from Anambra South Senatorial zone, we found Ukachukwu the best candidate to secure victory for the party on November 8 election.

“We are convinced of his capacity to fix security, drastically reduce poverty and provide economic development for the people of the State, “he said.

Addressing the gathering comprising the ward, local and State executives of the group, the National Coordinator, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, who had earlier traced the history of the group to late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, said the group has confidence in Ukachukwu’s leadership who he said would introduce a new era of prosperity to Anambra people.

“We need to understand the importance of maintaining the zoning arrangement in the State which favours the South Senatorial zone of the State.

“We owe the party a debt to zero in to the candidate of Anambra South and zoning ushers sense of balance and accommodation in the State.

“From all indications, Prince Ukachukwu is the right candidate to run and win the election for APC in Anambra State and it is obvious that if the right candidate emerges, victory is assured for the party.

“Ukachukwu was not planning to run but with the demise of our former principal, Senator Ubah, we find out that he is the only person who can step into Ubah’s big shoes. Ukachukwu had given Ubah all the support he needed to achieve his governorship ambition when he was alive, “he explained.

Awards were given to some distinguished personalities for their support for the IP.

Recipients of the awards included Dr Tony Aniukwu; Dr. Ejike Ezendu; Bishop Emeka Nwankpa; Chief Linus Ezenkwu; Philip-Deane; Ugochukwu Okenwa and Amede Brayan.
