Ignorance not bases for sensless remarks, Fedpoly Oko students tell content creator, Ozoigbondu

From Mokwugwo Solomon, Awka

Students of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, have responded to what they termed stupidity of the highest order, in a podcast made on Hypepriestv, which has been trending online lately.

In the said podcast, a self styled content creator, Ozoigbondu, said that he does not value graduates of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, as, according to him, they are not always sound.

But in a strong worded response, President of the Students Union Government, Anuluonye Ifechukwu Joseph, relayed the anger and disappointment of students of the institution over such remark, which he said, attempted to discredit the great institution by stating that “Federal Polytechnic Oko is not a school.”

“While we understand that comedy thrives on exaggeration, we must also remind Ozoigbondu that ignorance, when loud, stops being funny,” the SUG President warned.

He said that Ozoigbondu’s assertion are not only uninformed but also a sad reflection of the misinformation some entertainers spread in the name of content creation.

He said: “The Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, remains one of the most respected citadels of learning in the entire South East, and by extension, the entire country.

“With decades of excellence in engineering, technology, science, and business education, Fedpoly, Oko, has produced thousands of graduates, who are making waves in different fields both nationally and internationally.

“In fact, Ozoigbondu is welcome to visit our school, perhaps, when he sees what a real school looks like, he’ll stop confusing empty comedy for his poor knowledge of reality on the ground. Until then, we suggest he leaves our respected institution out of his confused banter.

“Secondary or primary school dropouts in Ozoigbondu’s village, who tell him that they are students or graduates of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, are not and do not represent or mean the same thing as real graduates of the prestigious institution, who have distinguished themselves in different fields across Nigeria and Africa, who have, indeed, made the institution proud,” he mocked Ozoigbondu; while admonishing the content creator to always educate himself properly before making such careless remarks.
