The Muojekwu family of Osumenyi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State has celebrated three of its elders in a colourful triple birthday ceremony.
The celebrants were Mrs. Beatrice Biarie Muojekwu (100), Ide Sir Stephen Muojekwu, KSM, JP (80), and Lady Ifeoma Muojekwu, LSM (70).
The event began with a Holy Mass at the family compound attended by priests, religious sisters, family members and friends. Guests were also entertained by cultural icon Queen Theresa Onuorah with an Egedege dance performance.
Rev. Fr. Peter Muojekwu described the annual celebration as a thanksgiving to God for the gift of long life, while family representative, HH Dominic Muojekwu, expressed appreciation to guests for sharing in the joyous occasion.
Children of the celebrants said the gathering was an opportunity to celebrate their parents while they are alive and thank God for His faithfulness.
The celebration ended with dancing, feasting and goodwill messages from well-wishers.
