Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, Barr. Prince Chukwudi Oli (Oba Ezeafia), has paid ₦11,150,800 to offset the medical bills of 26 patients at the Referral Health Centre, Awgbu, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The intervention covered 14 surgical patients, seven admitted patients and five out-patients, bringing relief to families who had struggled to meet the cost of treatment and preventing patients from remaining in the hospital over unpaid bills.
Speaking with reporters, Oli described the gesture as an act of service to humanity and worship to God, stressing that genuine compassion should not be limited by political or geographical boundaries.
He said the intervention was consistent with his long-standing commitment to humanitarian service, noting that even before seeking elective office, he had invested in healthcare support, youth empowerment, education, sports development and community welfare.
Beneficiaries and community residents described the intervention as timely and life-changing, saying it had restored hope to many families.
They commended Oli for extending assistance beyond his constituency, describing the gesture as a demonstration of selfless leadership and compassion.
