Customs seize camouflage uniforms, drugs worth N259m in Ogun

The Ogun I Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a luxury bus conveying military camouflage uniforms, cannabis and other contraband items along the Sagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway.

Acting Area Controller, Oladapo Afeni, said the vehicle was intercepted through intelligence-driven surveillance after allegedly evading security checkpoints.

Items recovered included 197 camouflage trousers and shorts, five complete camouflage uniforms, 154 parcels of synthetic cannabis known as Canadian Loud, seven parcels of Colorado and other prohibited goods.

Afeni warned that illegal possession of military uniforms could aid impersonation and other criminal activities threatening national security.

He said two suspects were arrested, while the seized drugs and suspects were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation.

The seized items were valued at over N259m.
