The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide and southern Nigeria ethnic youth leaders have warned against alleged plans to remove Hope Uzodimma as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), describing the move as dangerous to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in the South-East.

Speaking in Awka, the group’s President, Amb. Arthur Obiora, said Uzodimma remained a strong political rallying point for the APC in the region and a key supporter of Tinubu.

Obiora warned that removing the Imo governor from the PGF leadership could weaken APC’s support base in the South-East and affect the party’s electoral chances in 2027.

He also dismissed allegations of a missing N800 billion linked to the forum, describing them as politically motivated attempts to discredit the Tinubu administration and create division within the party.

The group urged APC leaders and President Tinubu to prevent actions capable of causing internal crisis ahead of the general elections, warning that youths might stage protests if Uzodimma is removed.
