Frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Idemili North and South under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Kene Igboebisi, has stressed the need for greater investment in children’s sports development, describing it as a pathway to building a better society free from crime.
Dr. Igboebisi made the remarks during the 2026 Inter-House Sports Competition organized by Merchants of Light School in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to him, sports help shape discipline, leadership, confidence and teamwork among young people, adding that investing in sports is also an investment in human capital development.
He commended the students, teachers and organizers for the successful event and noted that beyond winning trophies, the real achievement was inspiring children to believe in themselves and discover their talents.
Dr. Igboebisi, whose foundation has supported students through scholarship schemes, also sponsored the Lagos House team, formerly known as Pink House, which emerged overall winner of the competition.
He further called on community leaders, parents and stakeholders to support sports development through sponsorship, mentorship and provision of sporting equipment, insisting that the future of society depends on proper investment in children.
In their response, members of Lagos House appreciated Dr. Igboebisi for his support and described him as a worthy candidate to represent Idemili North and South at the Green Chamber.
