NSCDC warns students: Emergencies don’t give notice

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra Command, has urged students of COOU, Igbariam, to stay alert and adopt a safety-first approach.


State Commandant Maku Olatunde said emergencies can occur anytime and early response is crucial.


He listed common campus risks such as fires, medical incidents, and security threats, advising students to focus on prevention, preparedness, and prompt reporting while leaving high-risk situations to professionals.


He also called for stronger safety awareness and collective responsibility among students.
