The Office of the Media Adviser to the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has once again issued a public warning regarding the activities of fraudulent individuals and online platforms falsely claiming endorsement or affiliation with Peter Obi, describing such claims as entirely false and deceptive.


According to the statement, these schemes are carefully designed scams aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

It revealed that a suspect recently apprehended by security agencies confessed that fraudsters deliberately exploit Mr. Obi’s reputation for integrity, using his name and image as a “trust magnet” to lure victims into fraudulent financial commitments.


The statement emphasized that Obi has no affiliation whatsoever with any online “doubling” schemes, cryptocurrency investment platforms, or high-yield financial programmes.

It advised the public to always verify the legitimacy of any investment opportunity through official and credible channels before committing fund.


The Media Office further warned that any platform promising unrealistic returns while using Mr. Obi’s name or likeness should be treated as a criminal attempt to defraud. It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and not allow fraudsters to take advantage of public trust.
