A good governance group, Anambra Patriots, has endorsed two members—Obiora Okafor and Pharm. Onyedika Boniface Egbutu—for seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Okafor will contest for Awka South Constituency I, while Egbutu is seeking to represent Awka South Constituency II. The endorsements were ratified during the group’s meeting in Awka.
Chairman of the group, Chief Ejiamatu Damian Enekwechi, said the decision was based on the aspirants’ competence and track records. He noted that the group aims to support the administration of Chukwuma Soludo by promoting credible candidates for legislative roles.
Convener, Architect Okey Ezeobi, reiterated the group’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and effective service delivery, stressing that only aspirants with proven leadership qualities would receive support.
In their remarks, Okafor pledged to bring his 18 years of experience in the oil and gas sector to bear, while Egbutu promised improved healthcare initiatives, youth empowerment, and educational support for constituents.
