As part of his constituency projects, the member representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amb. Peter Uzokwe has revealed that he would conduct free medical outreach in his constituency, January 2026.

Hon. Amb Uzokwe who disclosed this while speaking at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) held at Nnewi also disclosed that the outreach was also in honour of the Managing Director of NSITF, Barr Oluwaseun Falaye.

He further disclosed that the outreach was slated to hold first week of January, 2026 and by November this year, all the hospitals would refer sick people to them, assuring that the outreach would handle all manner of health challenges which would be well funded.

“The outreach is part of my constituency project to my people in the Nnewi North, South and Ekwusigo. I am also doing this to honour Barr Oluwaseun Falaye, the MD of NSITF so that he will have special love for the people in my constituency.

“Whenever I rise to speak in the chamber, I will introduce myself as Hon. Amb Peter Ifeanyi Uzokwe because I still have the authority of people of Nnewi north, the Japanese capital of Nigeria.

“The Speaker will call me the Japanese man and I will call him Your Excellency I started using that caption for people to remember that Nnewi North occupies a very big place in Nigeria; take the message today. After the accident that happened at Ugwu-Akpati Ozu Nnewi, I asked myself; had it been that the diseased were registered with the NSITF, I will not bother myself. What we did was to see that their families were being taken good care of. What pains me most whenever somebody dies is not only that the person was the bread winner but what comes after the loss.

“The one that happened at Amichi, the people were not enrolled with the scheme; so I paid for the hospital bills and those who died, I gave their families financial supports to start life. So I want everybody to benefit in my constituency because I so much value lives, “Hon. Amb. Uzokwe concluded.
