Ancient Football Club of Nigeria empowers youths through football

The President of Ancient Fooltball Club of Nigeria, Hon. Nnanyelu Sunday Ubah has said that the club remains committed to empowering youths through football competition to hunt for talents.

He revealed that the club has sponsored many boys who are doing well outside Nigeria.


Speaking with The nijasun.com during an event, Hon. Ubah said that the club marked her 20th anniversary last year, adding that one could not talk about the history of Auto Spare parts Dealers Association (ASPDA) Trade fair market in Lagos without mentioning the club.


On one of the objectives of forming the club, the President said: “We have been there to see how we can bring youths together to assist them in one way or the other when it comes to football. We have sponsored many boys who are doing well outside Nigeria.

“This is to help them to achieve their destinies and we have agents at home and abroad. We do a kind of competition, that is, we allow them to come and show their skills, invite coaches within and outside the country to come and train the youth; and at the end, if they come out successfully after the training, Ancient Football Club will take over the sponsorship and bring out the best in the person.

“The club has not less than six boys it is sponsoring abroad and our motto remains ‘Retired But Not Tired’.

“Our men played football when they were in youthful age and are still playing now after their businesses. The essence is to achieve physical fitness and relaxation of the mind.

“Football is a unifying factor which unites people within the same country and nations of the world at large.


“To the youths, if you know you can play football very well, Ancient football is there to assist you in their little way because football needs to be promoted, ”Hon. Ubah further said.
