50-year-old woman welcomes quadruplets after conflicting scan results

A 50-year-old Nigerian woman, Olushola Olonode, has shared the remarkable story of how she gave birth to quadruplets after different ultrasound scans gave conflicting reports about the number of babies she was expecting.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solid Rock Parish, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, Olonode said she got married on December 12, 2023, after waiting many years to find a husband.

She said she prayed to conceive immediately after marriage because she did not want to endure another long wait for children.

According to her, her first pregnancy scan suggested she was carrying twins. A second scan at another hospital indicated triplets, while a later examination revealed she was carrying four babies.

“I told my husband I wasn’t going back for another scan because I was afraid the next one might say five,” she recalled humorously.

According to The PUNCH, Olonode also revealed that she experienced bleeding during the pregnancy and feared she might have lost one or more of the babies.

However, the pregnancy progressed successfully.

On March 6, 2026, just three weeks before her 50th birthday, she safely delivered two boys and two girls.

She expressed gratitude to God for preserving her life and that of her babies throughout the pregnancy and delivery, describing the birth as a miracle after years of waiting.
The mother of four concluded her testimony by thanking God for making her long-awaited dream of motherhood a reality.
