The Labour Party (LP) senatorial candidate for Anambra Central District, Ven. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, has alleged that some individuals are offering money to persuade him to withdraw from the 2027 senatorial race.
Ikezue, in a statement on Thursday, warned members of his campaign council and supporters against negotiating with anyone on his behalf, saying anyone caught doing so would be immediately removed from his campaign team.
He said his decision to contest was not motivated by desperation or personal gain but by what he described as a divine call to serve the people of Anambra Central.
“Let me state this clearly: STOP OFFERING ME MONEY TO STEP DOWN,” Ikezue said.
The LP candidate said his campaign would focus on tackling erosion, creating opportunities for youths and women, empowering persons with disabilities and supporting elderly citizens through welfare schemes.
He also pledged to give voice to the voiceless and effectively discharge his legislative oversight responsibilities.
Ikezue appealed to his political opponents to see him as a brother rather than an enemy, urging them to support what he described as his mission of “rescue, results and representation.”
He maintained that no amount of money could make him abandon what he considers a divine calling to serve the people.
