Anambra-born businessman, Dr. John Metchie, has announced plans to contest the House of Representatives seat for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in 2027, citing the need for improved representation.
Speaking in Umueri, Metchie said his decision followed consultations with residents who expressed dissatisfaction with the current level of federal presence in the area. He pledged to attract development and federal projects to the constituency.
Highlighting his community efforts, Metchie pointed to his support in security, education, and healthcare, including the establishment of a joint security base in the Omambala region.
He also aligned his vision with Governor Charles Soludo’s Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) model, expressing confidence it can drive grassroots development if replicated.
Metchie urged constituents to support his ambition, promising people-focused leadership and effective representation.
