The Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC) has assured residents of Nnewi and Okija of improved and stable electricity supply soon.

Managing Director, Frank Nwoye Okafor, gave the assurance during a two-day public consultation on draft electricity regulations held in Nnewi Wednesday. He said the commission is investing in distribution infrastructure through FirstPower Distribution Company Limited to address persistent supply challenges.

Okafor noted that ASERC, established under the 2025 electricity law, regulates generation, transmission, distribution, and supply within the state. He added that the commission is focused on ensuring reliable, affordable power while protecting consumers and encouraging private sector participation.

He said the consultation was aimed at gathering feedback from electricity users and resolving complaints over poor supply despite payment, assuring residents that improvements would be noticeable soon.
