Trump declares US-Iran peace deal ready, vows Hormuz reopening within hours

US President Donald Trump has announced that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran is expected to be signed on Sunday, with the strategic Strait of Hormuz reopening immediately afterward.

Trump said the deal would restore access to the vital shipping route, which has faced disruptions during months of conflict.

Pakistan, a key mediator in the negotiations, also expressed optimism that the agreement could be finalized within 24 hours.

Despite the positive outlook, Iranian officials said the exact signing date had not yet been confirmed, although they acknowledged that a deal could be reached within days.

The proposed agreement is expected to address two major issues: navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear programme.

Trump reiterated that Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium would be dealt with under the terms of the accord.

The development comes amid renewed hopes that diplomatic efforts will end tensions that have rattled global energy markets and heightened security concerns across the Middle East.
