From Mokwugwo Solomon, Awka
Anambra Patriots For Soludo (APS) has described the governor of the state, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as “a one-man riot squad.”
Chairman, Anambra Patriots for Soludo, Chief Ejiamatu Damian Enekwechi, made the assertion while briefing newsmen on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, during an endorsement rally organized by the group for the governor at the International Convention Center (ICC) Awka.
“Soludo is performing,” he said. “He is living up to the name given to him: “Olu Atuegwu,” which, if translated, means “he who does not fear huge task.”
“The governor is working tirelessly. So, we decided to endorse him for a second term in office so that he can finish the good work he started.”
Describing the Anambra Patriots for Soludo as the biggest support group among Soludo’s 65 support groups, Enekwechi noted that it can boast of a membership of about five hundred thousand members, with presence in all the 326 wards in the state.
“Anambra Patriots for Soludo is a support group; others are supported groups. When you call yourself a support group, you have to deploy your resources to support the person; not expecting to collect from the person. That is the difference between Anambra Patriots for Soludo and others. You heard when the governor said that when they were still planning to procure his governorahip nomination form, the Patriots bought the form for him using our own money. The Patriots have naira power, and that is what is needed in politics,” he said.
Earlier in his speech during the endorsement rally, Enekwechi expressed the readiness of the group to ensure massive victory for the governor come November 8, 2025. He described Soludo as a visionary leader, who has positively transformed Anambra State. He said the decision to endorse the governor was informed by his outstanding performances in less than four years in office.
“All the commitments and sacrifices we’ve been making in support of Mr Governor is due to the love we have for him. And we’re convinced he’ll do more when he returns,” he added.
In his own speech, the Convener of Anambra Patroits for Soludo, Architect Okey Ezeobi, said that the endorsement followed their firm believe that reward for hard work is more work. He added that Soludo has outperformed all his predecessors in just three years in office. He identified unprecedented infrastructural development, human empowerment and social intervention programs of Governor Soludo as hallmarks of his administration.
The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), also gave their nod to Soludo’s re-election bid during the rally. The group, which came under the banner “Solution for Disability Alliance,” said that the governor gave sense of belonging to the group in his government.
State chairman of (JONAPWD), Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke, said his organization have benefited immensely from the Soludo-led administration, including recruitment and other forms of engagement and empowerment.
“We’re here because we’ve seen something that has never happened in Anambra before. No fewer than 150 members are civil servants today under Soludo,” he said.
The Association of non-indigenes in Anambra State also endorsed Mr. Governor during the rally.
While appreciating the Anambra Patriots for Soludo and others for finding his government worthy of continuity, the governor pledged to reciprocate the gesture by redoubling efforts in taking the state to enviable heights, if returned to office come November 8, 2025.
He said, “This is a campaign of no other in Anambra history. This is the first time when the people are taking ownership of a campaign and paying to serve.
“Groups had offered to pay for my forms. Now, endorsement rally everywhere with chieftaincy titles and cheques in millions.
“I’m deeply humbled, and I don’t take it for granted. it’s a call for greater dedication for service. In next four years, when I believe my contract will be renewed, be rest assured you won’t recognize your state again.
“I’m joining hands with you in building a state where I will want to personally live, retire and take a walk on the streets. We must make Anambra home like no other.”
