The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has called on all staff and students of the institution to join hands with management to move the Federal Polytechnic, Oko to greater heights.

The Rector gave the admonition on Friday, December 19, 2025, on the occasion of the 2025 Christmas Carol of nine lessons held at the convocation arena of the polytechnic.
Awuzie, the 6th substantive Rector of the institution, also reminded members of the polytechnic community that the appointment of the Rector of the institution was duly made by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, in strict compliance with extant rules and regulations; adding that with the process concluded, all forms of lobbying, politicking, and distraction are firmly behind.
“What lies before us is a season of governance, service and shared responsibility,” the Rector said.
“Let us become proud ambassadors of this institution: consciously projecting, promoting and protecting the good image of the polytechnic. Institutional branding is not the responsibility of management alone; it is a collective duty we all share.
“At the same time, I must reiterate that this administration maintains zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption, and any conduct capable of bringing reputational damage to our institution. As stated at our inauguration, we did not come to victimize or witch-hunt anyone. Rather, we came to liberate, to restore order, to instill discipline, and to do the right thing; always guided by due process. Management remains open, humane and supportive, but will not hesitate to apply due process where required,” she added.
In the spirit of the season, management of the polytechnic led by the Rector, Dr. Awuzie, also distributed hundreds of bags of rice to staff to enable them enjoy the Christmas celebration.
