Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu in the evening of May 17, 2025 foiled a kidnap attempt and recovered the victim’s vehicle at Isuaniocha.
This was contained in a release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga (Superintendent of Police) Sunday.
He said that the kidnapping gang of five operating in a black coloured Toyota Corolla double-crossed the victim at Amatu village, Agulu and abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV before the Police were alerted.
He said the operatives in technology-driven manhunt on the criminals made them to abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha and fled, adding that the victim has been debriefed and in safe custody.
“To this end, the operatives are currently working on the necessary information available to dislodge the kidnapping gang and have stepped up security surveillance in the area for possible arrest of the suspects and to nip in the bud any untoward situation, “he said.
