Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has expressed joy over the safe rescue of the schoolchildren who were recently kidnapped, describing their release as a moment worthy of thanksgiving.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Obi commended the security personnel and all those who worked behind the scenes to secure the children’s freedom.

He praised their commitment and efforts in ensuring the victims returned safely to their families.

While celebrating the successful rescue, Obi said the recurring abduction of schoolchildren remains a serious national concern.

He called on governments at all levels to strengthen the country’s security architecture and make the protection of lives and property a top priority.

He stressed that every Nigerian child deserves to receive an education in a safe and secure environment, free from the fear of kidnapping and violence.

Obi also congratulated the rescued children, their families, schools, and Nigerians, describing the rescue as a positive outcome of collective effort.
