Frontline Anambra Governorship aspirant under the Labour Party platform, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu has expressed shock over the reported discovery of the remains of Hon. Justice Azuka, the Labour Party House Member representing Onitsha North Constituency in the Anambra State Assembly.
Nwosu in a statement in Awka on Thursday recalled that he had had repeatedly called on the Anambra State Government not to spare any resources in securing his release of the now demised lawmaker since his kidnap on 24th December 2024.
He expressed regret that another serving member of the State Assembly has been lost to kidnappers during the present administration and noted that those developments do not in any way inspire trust or confidence in the general public on the government’s capacity and willingness to protect her citizens.
“If elected officers can fall prey to kidnappers, whither the fate of private citizens?” he queried.
He said that the full weight of the law should be visited on the arrested abductors so as to ensure justice for the murdered lawmaker.
“If it is true, as reported that his abductors and killers have been arrested, then the full weight of Justice must be brought to bear on the culprits. There must be Justice for Justice Azuka! On behalf of myself and my Campaign Organization, I pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased and fortitude for his family to bear this irreparable and very painful loss” Nwosu stated.
