…Launches ₦200m building project, unveils sacred grotto

In a glittering ceremony marking 25 years of academic excellence, Mother of Mercy Girls’ Secondary School, Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North L.G.A, Anambra State, honoured over 70 distinguished personalities.

The honourees were said to have made contributions that have impacted society positively.
The Silver Jubilee celebration also witnessed the launch of a ₦200 million building project and the unveiling of a sacred grotto, reflecting the school’s commitment to both infrastructural growth and spiritual enrichment.
Among the honourees were: Sir and Mrs. Samuel Ezema, Production Manager of OTC Group of Companies, Hon. Ebuka Chukwuka, former Commissioner for Environment, Rivers State, Engr. Udoyibo Ikenna Samuel of Engr. Whiteman IK Udoyibo Enterprises B.C.C and Chief Emmanuel Azuka Anughara( Akuenwebe of Ukpor).
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Sir and Mrs. Samuel Ezema, expressed gratitude to the school management. They urged students to uphold discipline, hard work and integrity as keys to success.
Also speaking ,Hon. Ebuka Chukwuemeka commended the school’s achievements over the years and encouraged students to be resilient, environmentally conscious and socially responsible in all facets of life.
On his part, Engr. Udoyibo Ikenna Samuel, who was recognised for his exemplary role in engineering and enterprise development, inspired students to pursue STEM education with passion and creativity, highlighting the importance of skills and innovation in nation-building.
Chief Emmanuel Azuka Anughara(Akuenwebe of Ukpor), described the honour as a moment of immense pride. He advised students to uphold moral values, engage actively in community service and strive for excellence in every endeavour.
The Silver Jubilee, blending academic achievement, spiritual devotion and infrastructural development, reinforced Mother of Mercy Girls’ Secondary School’s mission to nurture young women into leaders grounded in faith, knowledge and service to humanity.
