*Proprietor says new Jerusalem campus goes beyond academics

It was a colourful celebration in Akuzor, Nkpor, on Sunday, as family members, friends, community leaders and well-wishers gathered for the official opening of the fifth campus of Ebelechukwu International Group of Schools.
The new campus, known as the Jerusalem Campus, is located in Akuzor, the ancestral home of the school’s proprietor, Mr. Timothy Ebelechukwu Chukwukelu. It was officially opened by Pastor Ekeigwe.
Speaking at the event, Chukwukelu expressed gratitude to God for His grace and guidance, saying the decision to establish the school in his hometown was driven by a passion that goes beyond providing conventional education.
He urged parents to give their children sound moral upbringing, stressing that effective education requires close collaboration between parents and schools.
“My advice to the community is to train a child in the proper way so that when he grows he will not depart from it. We are here to train your children. Your child is in safe hands,” he said.
According to him, parents have no reason to doubt the quality of education offered by the institution, noting that Ebelechukwu International Group of Schools has built a strong reputation over the years.
He said, “You are not making any mistake by bringing your child to us. This is a job we know very well and we have been doing it well. Ebelechukwu is a brand everybody knows. So having us here is a blessing.”
The proprietor also advised parents to complement the school’s efforts by maintaining discipline and good values at home, noting that raising responsible children becomes easier when parents and teachers work together.
Chukwukelu disclosed that the school now operates five campuses across Anambra State: Campus 1 at Umusiome, Nkpor; Campus 2 at Eke, Nkpor-Umuoji Road; Campus 3 at Umunya, Odumodu Junction; Campus 4 at Amawa, Ogbunike, by Toll Gate; and the newly opened Jerusalem Campus 5 at Akuzor, Nkpor.
He also recalled the school’s recent victory at Spell Africa, a national competition involving schools from across Nigeria.
In his welcome address, the Principal of Campus 5, Mr. Victor Orajaka, said the new campus had been equipped with the necessary facilities, learning materials and personnel to provide students with a conducive environment for learning.
Orajaka disclosed that the institution would go beyond classroom education by equipping students with practical skills, including fashion design, weaving, computer studies and GSM repairs, among others.
He said the initiative was aimed at helping students develop skills that could become useful to them in the future while complementing their academic development.
Also speaking, Chief Ikechukwu, Offiaduru Nkpor; Barr. Sam Olisa and other community leaders welcomed the establishment of the new campus.
They commended the proprietor for his commitment to education and urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to enrol their children in the school.
The community leaders described Ebelechukwu International Group of Schools as one of the leading educational institutions in Anambra State and beyond.
Highlights of the event included the unveiling of the campus, debate, the “I Can Spell” competition, cultural dance and Ogene music performances.
