Davido claims he doesn’t receive enough credit he deserves in Nigerian music industry

Nigerian Afrobeats artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, complains he does not receive enough credit for his contributions to the Nigerian music industry.

Davido explained that despite being consistent in the music industry for 15 years, people don’t give him his due credit.

In a recent media chat with content creator Egungun of Lagos, Davido said: “I have been conquering the music industry for 15 years, but the crazy thing is that people don’t give me my flowers [credits] that I deserve.”

Egungun asked Davido whether he believed he has haters.

“There are haters, but when I go everywhere, they love me, so I’m like, where are the haters?” Davido replied.

It is generally believed that despite Davido’s claims of not getting enough credit, he is one of the most-awarded artists, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.

Davido earned the Artist of the Year at the recently held 17th edition of The Headies Awards in Lagos.

The awards event also named him Digital Artiste of the Year.
