Cubana Chief Priest urges South-East to back Tinubu, links support to possible release of Nnamdi Kanu

Socialite and entrepreneur, Cubana Chief Priest, has called on the South-East to align politically with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, suggesting that such support could pave the way for the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

He made the appeal while reacting to a viral video showing the Lawrence Agubuzo, the Igwe of Ezema Olo, personally appealing to President Tinubu in Abuja to “hear our cry” concerning Kanu’s release.

Sharing the video on his social media page, Cubana Chief Priest commended the monarch’s move, describing it as a strategic step toward engaging the Federal Government.

“The message is very clear. God bless Your Royal Highness for partaking in Nigeria’s future. If His Highness had not gone to Abuja, how would Asiwaju have received this message?” he wrote.

He emphasized the need for political cooperation rather than confrontation, arguing that meaningful engagement with the current administration could yield positive outcomes for the region.

“We cannot fight the government. If Asiwaju frees MNK, the Igwe has already paved the way. Let’s get along with Nigeria. Tinubu won the last election without the South-East.

“He will win again, so why not give him our votes so he can do what we ask in return? Hopefully, he will hand over power to an Igbo man.”

Highlighting the President’s political strength, he added that Tinubu possesses what he described as the most formidable political structure in the country, capable of securing electoral victory.

According to him, strategic political alignment with the President represents the South-East’s strongest bargaining position moving forward.
