The Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on Friday held her 2025 South East zonal prayer conference and synod in Awka.
The event which held at God’spower World Outreach Ministries, Ameyi, Awka South LGA attracted bishops from the length and breadth of Nigeria and beyond.
The theme of the conference/synod was, “Consolidation of good governance, prevention of crime, security by all and human rights societies,”
In his keynote address, Vice President (South East) Archbishop Joshua Robert, who is also the General Overseer of Freedom Assembly, thanked Anambra people for turning out in their good numbers to be part of the occasion.
He said that the gathering of the prelates at any particular time is a special gift to the host state.
The CBCN National Deputy Chairman, Archbishop Prof Sam Onyeagoziri in his presentation commended Gov Charles Soludo for his landmark achievements in less than one term in office.
He described Gov Soludo as the “Light of the State, whose quest for boundless wellness of the populace would retain the recurrent productivity and forthrightly affirmed that God will in no mean measure grant him his positive heart desires.
Archbishop Onyeagoziri however enjoined Ndi-Anambra to gracefully partner with Prof Soludo’s developmental instinct so as to enviably drive the state to the expectant Dubai designate.
In his message at the occasion, Archbishop Leonard Bature Kawas , the President General of CBCN who took his Bible reading from Isaiah 38: 1-22 said that the church has been facing serious challenges because of the activities of the forces of darkness.
He however noted with relish that the kingdom of darkness shall never prevail against the church of God.
Archbishop Kawas stressed the need for all and sundry to support the work of God in their localities which according to him attract divine blessings, longevity, and protection.
The highpoint of the event was the Archbishopric elevation and consecration of Bishop Onyedikachukwu Joseph Nzekwesi.
Archbishop Nzekwesi is the National Leader of Soludo Solution Movement (SSM) a leading support group for Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo.
