The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the forthcoming Anambra State election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has criticized the administration of Governor Charles Soludo over what he described as years of neglect of Njikoka and surrounding communities by the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma, came up with this criticism during a campaign rally held in Njikoka Local Government Area, where he unveiled his development blueprint to an enthusiastic crowd.
Addressing the people of Enugwu Ukwu and other Njikoka communities, he said:“Ndi Njikoka, particularly Enugwu Ukwu, have been overlooked for too long. We are here to change Anambra State for good. The lack of basic infrastructure and economic opportunities here is unacceptable. Our people deserve better.”
He pledged to prioritize transformative infrastructure projects, including road rehabilitation, stable electricity supply, and modern public facilities, saying such improvements would enhance the quality of life and boost economic activities in the area.
“We will bring industries to Njikoka that will create sustainable employment for our youth and women. Our people will no longer need to leave Anambra to find opportunities elsewhere. We will bring the opportunities here, ”he said.
On security, Ikukuoma assured the people of his readiness to tackle insecurity head-on.
“Security will top our agenda. We will chase away the ndi aku odo who have been killing our people instead of protecting them, ”he added.
The APC deputy governorship candidate, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), echoed Ikukuoma’s remarks, pledging their joint commitment to inclusive and impactful governance.
“Njikoka is the heart of Anambra State, and we will ensure it beats strongly with development and progress,” she affirmed.
Ekwunife also emphasized community empowerment, vowing to roll out skill acquisition programmes and small business support schemes aimed at reducing unemployment and enhancing economic resilience at the grassroots.
The rally witnessed massive turnout and support, with chants and slogans hailing the Ikukuoma/Iyom ticket, signaling strong grassroots momentum for the APC.
Earlier, the campaign team paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Enugwu Ukwu na Umunri, Igwe Sir Ralph Obumneme Ekpeh, reaffirming their respect for traditional institutions.
Dignitaries at the event included:
Chief Basil Ejidike; Dr. Obinna Uzoh; Rt. Hon. Barr. Rita Maduagwu; Hon. Humphrey Nsofor and Hon. Barr. Timothy Ifedioranma.
Others are Amb. Dr. Elijah Onyeagba; Chief Ossy Ezenwa; Chief Sam Oraegbunam; Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu; Prof. Walter Nwafia; Bishop Daniel Okolo; Dr. Akweke Francis Okoye; Dr Iyke Oliobi and Mr Arinze Igboeli, among others.
