By Uche Chukwu, Awka

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8, 2025 election, Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife have called on Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliiance (APGA) to quit Agu-Awka government house, Awka.

They said he should return to classroom where he can theorize governance and politics.

Ukachyjwu who spoke at the reception organized to receive his running mate by Nri community weekend said Governor Soludo has no business remaining in government.

He explained that the Governor is best suited to lecture than govern, adding that theories don’t match with governance ideals.

According to him, Soludo should leave government house and allow those who like him have track records in job generation and wealth creation to occupy the seat of Governor and transform the State for better.

He revealed that he is the second highest employer of labour in Anambra State after the State Government, hinting that his investments span manufacturing, education, hospitality, among others.

Ukachukwu observed that Ekwunife is doing more currently than she performed as a legislator.

While thanking Nri people for identifying with Ekwunife, the governorship candidate assured he would accommodate them in his government if elected.

“I am very happy with the support I received today from the good people of the Nri community. The endorsement is huge proof that the people of Nri and the state at large are really clamoring for a change which APC is very much prepared and ready to offer.

“I am contesting the election to connect Anambra State to the centre. I will run a partnership government where all the 179 communities that constitute the State would have a say irrespective of political affiliations,” he added.

Ukachukwu commended his running mate for attracting the endorsement.

Also speaking, Ekwunife observed that Ukachukwu has better pedigree to launch the State into an orbit of transformation given his rich background in the business community.

She noted that time was up with Soludo’s APGA years back when the then APGA leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu said Peter Obi was his last wish in government.

Earlier in his opening address, the President-General of Nri Progressive Association, Oba Kelvin Obiegbunam thanked Ejwunife for her thoughtfulness to organize the event, saying that it has afforded the constituents another opportunity to thank her for uplifting the community infrastructure wise and materially empowering the members of the community and her senatorial zone while she served.

He noted she represented her constituents well and attracted unprecedented democracy dividends .

Highpoint of the event is Nri community to support Ekwunife’s current bid.
