Barely five months after the Chybee Foundation for Women and Youths Empowerment empowered over 60 women and youths with grants of ₦100,000 each, the foundation has again touched more lives in another massive empowerment programme in Delta State.
The latest programme, held on October 3, 2026, at the NUJ Secretariat Multipurpose Hall, Miriam Babangida Way, Asaba, attracted more than 1,000 participants, with over 60 women and youths receiving grants.
The event also featured skills acquisition programmes, vocational training and mentorship sessions, providing beneficiaries with practical knowledge and tools to become economically self-reliant.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the foundation, describing the intervention as a major boost to their efforts to improve their livelihoods and provide for their families.
Speaking shortly after the event, the founder of the foundation, Amb. Lady Chinyere Chukwudi Zimako, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the programme.
She said preparations for the latest empowerment began immediately after the foundation’s previous programme in May.
“I am so thrilled with the results. It is indeed a huge success,” she said.
Explaining her motivation for sustaining the empowerment initiatives, Zimako said helping vulnerable and less privileged members of society, particularly women and youths, had been her lifelong passion.
“It has been my lifelong desire to be of help to the vulnerable and less privileged members of society, especially women and youths. I have been doing this right from my youthful age.
“Whenever I see people suffering, I get troubled. Giving fish to people is good, but teaching them how to fish is better and has greater impact.
“This is why we embark on skills acquisition programmes and vocational training, so that they can be equipped with skills and knowledge to make money and take good care of their families.
“I derive a lot of pleasure and satisfaction when I see that what I am doing is positively affecting society. I don’t intend to slow down. Instead, I am working hard to make sure upcoming events will be better and more impactful,” she said.
Also speaking, one of the Special Guests of Honour, Dr. Austin Ifeanyi Epunam JP, Atu Nnewi, who is the President and Founder of Sweethome Africa Humanitarian Foundation, commended Zimako for her sustained commitment to alleviating the suffering of women and youths.
Epunam described her as a woman with a “golden heart,” noting that she was willing to commit her hard-earned resources to bringing relief and hope to people in need.
He further described her as “an angel in human form” and prayed God to continue to guide, protect and strengthen her in her humanitarian endeavours.
The latest intervention further underscores the Chybee Foundation’s commitment to empowering women and youths through direct financial support, skills development, vocational training and mentorship.
