Anambra Police forge powerful security alliance with forest security service to tackle crime

The Anambra State Police Command has strengthened its security architecture with a renewed partnership with the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Anambra State Command, aimed at improving intelligence gathering and combating crime across the state.


The collaboration was reaffirmed on Friday, July 10, 2026, when the leadership of the NFSS paid a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Awka as part of efforts to deepen cooperation with key security stakeholders.


Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel, described the visit as a significant step towards enhancing the Command’s all-inclusive operational strategy.


He reiterated the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and strategic partnerships to consolidate the gains already recorded in the fight against crime and criminality in Anambra State.


Ezekiel urged the Nigeria Forest Security Service to continue supporting lawful security operations by providing credible and timely intelligence that would aid crime prevention, detection and effective response.


Leader of the NFSS delegation, Mazi Destiny Jonas, commended the Anambra State Police Command for its proactive approach to security and appreciated the warm reception accorded his team.


He assured the Police of the Nigeria Forest Security Service’s readiness to collaborate with the Police and other security agencies in promoting peace, safety and security across the state.


The meeting ended with both organisations reaffirming their commitment to strengthening operational coordination, deepening stakeholder engagement and sustaining collaborative efforts in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police for a safer and more secure Nigeria.
